It is usually offered during the pooja however served post it. This comes handy as it stays well for days to come and works when you have to offer prasad to the stream of people visiting.
We usually make this on the first day and distribute to every person we come across during the visarjan…especially the police and the other staff managing it…They prefer this prasad over the usual pedhas or sweets.
The items are Khobra (coconot), Khas Khas (poppy seeds), Khadi sakhar( rock sugar), Kharik (dry dates).
For the last day of the BM theme, I wish to share the recipe for this mixture with you all..
1 cup roasted grated dry coconut
1/2 cup rock sugar
1 tspn roasted poppy seeds
1/2 cup deseeded dried dates
1 tspn cardamom powder
1 tbsp dry fruits crushed (almonds, cashews, raisins)
1) In a mixie grind the sugar and dates to make a coarse powder.
2) Add this to the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
